ActewAGL evHub — ActewAGL makes it easier than ever to find, finance and charge an EV.

ActewAGL’s customers have provided feedback that they appreciate the convenience and practicality of having the information to make an informed decision, all-in-one place.

ActewAGL was looking to support the ACT net zero emissions target, take an active stance on the reduction of transport emissions in the region and diversify their product offering beyond energy plans. With limited vehicle supply in market, ActewAGL took a long-term view to support the market in the early stages of adoption.

With little to no product to sell due to global supply shortages, ActewAGL took a content-led approach to educating and informing the market wherever they were at on their EV journey by launching the ActewAGL evHub.

The approach

A first of its kind, the ActewAGL evHub offers services to help find, finance and charge an EV, coupled with an extensive information centre to provide credible, thought leading content about EVs.

The content was largely informed by customer insight including barriers to adoption around the lack of public charging, coupled with range anxiety. As locals in the region travel frequently outside the ACT, customers felt that an EV couldn’t meet their leisure lifestyle which informed the Within Range leisure section and various articles related to travel, leisure and lifestyle.

With a limited budget, PR was frequently leveraged to support visitation to the site and traditional channels such as social media and email were leveraged to distribute the content.

Cure Collective worked as a team with ActewAGL on the strategy, customer-led design, product ideation, site design and development, content writing, search engine optimisation and cyber security support.

An initial microsite was up and running within six weeks and the full site was in market eight weeks later.

The results

In May 2023, ActewAGL was awarded the Zero Emissions First Mover Award at the 2023 Climate Choices Business Awards noting that “their online evHub is the first of its kind in Australia. It brings together all the information needed to buy an electric vehicle.”
